Hydro and pumped-storage generators
50Mn18Cr5 high-manganese austenitic steel
For Hydro and pumped-storage generators, the Generator Guard Ring must use 50Mn18Cr5 high-manganese austenitic steel at project-specific dimensions and weight while meeting Resists high centrifugal force; Designed for alternating operational loads. The engineering challenge is coordinated control of metal flow, section uniformity and internal integrity.
The forming strategy controls metal flow, section uniformity and internal integrity. Heating practice, deformation sequence, forging reduction, heat treatment and machining allowance are coordinated with defined material, dimensional, NDT and property release points.
Delivery basis: Machined condition. Resists high centrifugal force; Designed for alternating operational loads are incorporated into the project inspection plan, with final inspection records and the quality dossier supporting acceptance and release.
Heat/lot traceability and chemical analysis
Mechanical-property testing to the approved specification
UT / MT / PT and dimensional inspection as technically required
Material certificate and heat/lot traceability
